I am not at the top because in my junior year, I did too much at once and kicked off my studies for a little bit (I got 3A2B1C 1st semester and 5A1B second), so that dragged my rank down from a 5 to a 20 out of 420ish.

Haha, and I think I fit in pretty well with my classmates. People (surprisingly) rarely make a big deal out of that at my school. Plus, most of my friends don't know, since I look around 17-18 anyway =D

I know my teacher recommendations are going to be really...plain. I'm trying to whip out a really good essay, but I'm still not sure if it will be as good as I hope...

I'm really afraid that my class rank will definitely drag me down. I'm nowhere close to the top 2%, so...right. DX

A kid who graduated last year from my school was...perfect, more perfect than you. 2400, 4.0, numero uno in the state in Chem, Physics, etc, everybody loved him, but alas, he was rejected from Harvard.

You certainly can keep up with college-level work and can probably get in to Hahvahd. My thoughts lie with Poseur, there is life outside of the Ivies, and the fact that you're sn is "ivychan" makes me question your maturity. But who am I to judge?

I have to work on my apps because I'm submitting some tonite, so I'll keep this short.

In one word, you're NOT screwed. You are obviously are very talented kid to have finished high school so soon. For a 14 year old - even if you were an 18 year old - your stats are awesome. I won't say that you're in ... I would still rate you as a reach but you probably have less of a reach than most of us true seniors if you write really good essays and have really good recs.

Good luck --- don't lose sleep over not getting into Harvard or Yale! (I have about the same GPA and an SAT of about 150 points less, but that won't stop me from trying for the top schools)

On a second thought, your user name does make you slightly suspicious. Just because you do get into the Ivy doesn't mean that you'll rule us all, but getting rejected isn't necessarily a bad thing. Personally knew this kid who went to my school who applied to JHU with a 2370 on the SAT, 3.9-ish GPA UW, and 4th in US in bio. He ended up getting rejected, but then again he was the kind of kid who was a grade-grubber with zero passion for anything. Ask yourself this: Do you truly enjoy anything that you do? Do you have passion for them? If you don't, take a gap year off to find your passions. College admission officers want real, human people, not test-taking machines.

Haha, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, guys.

My first name is Ivy, and I use the Japanese -chan to signify...friendliness? I totally didn't mean Ivy League when I registered, but I've noticed already a lot of people think that I'm Ivy-obsessed... that's my bad. Sorry >_<

You've got a really good shot, especially given age.

I would really suggest that you consider taking a gap year or something though, even apply now and then defer admission for a year or something.
Thing is, while it's amazing that you finished high school so fast, I think that going into college so young you're going to miss out on a lot of the college experience, because you're going to be years younger than all your peers.
There's a lot of time for you to get your education and all, but really college (and high school) aren't all entirely about preparing for careers; this is life too and I think you'd get more out of it if you put college off for a year or so.
Just my 2 cents.

No, I'm really not. And I'm not being modest.

My parents (and I) immigrated here when I was in elementary school. Since my english would suck no matter which grade I was in and my math was too advanced to be learning multiplication, I just skipped two grades (4th and 6th). Plus I attended elementary school a year early when I was in China (my birthday was just a little behind the cut-off line, so after a lot of begging, I got let in a bit early)
