UChicago
Brown
Sophie Davis BS/MD
Brooklyn College BA/MD
St. John's PharmD
Wesleyan
Boston University

Thanks!

In at BU and SUNY, good chance at NYU, and the three Ivys are a reach although I would not be surprised if you get in any of them. Don't know about the others

In and SUNY's and probably in NYU /Chicago as well. Idk about the ivies though. Decent chance at Cornell, but Columbia will be harder. Probably a reach at Columbia.

Do you have a class rank?

NYU- match/reach
SUNY Stonybrook Honors College- match/reach
Columbia- almost impossible
Cornell- reach
UChicago- reach
Brown- almost impossible
Sophie Davis BS/MD- no clue
Brooklyn College BA/MD- no clue
St. John's PharmD- no clue
Wesleyan- in
Boston University- in

NYU---match
SUNY Stonybrook Honors College---match
Columbia---huge reach (20%)
Cornell---reach
UChicago---slight reach
Brown---huge reach (20%)
Sophie Davis BS/MD---no idea
Brooklyn College BA/MD---no idea
St. John's PharmD---no idea
Wesleyan---match
Boston University---safety

Keep in mind, I am chancing you based on what tons of other people chanced me all over the forum (I posted like a chance thread for a lot of schools seperately). You have higher SAT scores than me, but much lower SAT IIs. Both of us also have head only 3 leadership positions. You have a poorer unweighted GPA. You have more dedication to sports. If your class rank is within the top 3% of your class, then I would say you have a slightly better chance than me. Also, your essays and teacher recs are too a factor. Good luck! Oh, and I'm too a desi from LI, so we have that in common as well.

Woohoo! 163 views. 5 responses. Niceee.
Thanks for the responses guys! I know Columbia's a HUGE reach. It's my "fun" application. The application I'm doing thinking if the adcoms are on anything or they're bored of 4.0/2400s/amazing ECs, they'll admit me.

No, my school doesn't rank.
And hook for Brown: Sister's in the PLME program. Graduated undergrad '07.

So keep the responses coming. Thanks guys!

i agree what previous people have posted, though i think Wesleyan is more of a math/reach

I always thought NYU as a safety for me. I guess that was too arrogant of me.
Keep in mind that it's not just SUNY Stony Brook, it's the Honors College at Stony Brook which has a minimum UW GPA requirement of 93 (I don't know how my GPA would translate exactly to the 100pt. scale, but multiplying it by 25, it translates to 91.5)
But I'm hoping the Honors College will look past the little lower GPA.

Almost 300 views.
Hm.
I guess some chances do get redundant after a while.
But it would be nice if someone came along and said
"Hey, you're definitely in at Brown!"

Are people not chancing me because of my relatively low scores?

I don't chance 3.8 or higher GPAs because we all know they're getting in to the colleges they want.

So...Any more chancings?

whats been said is accurate... why do you need more chances?
Columbia, Brown, Cornell- Reaches
Chicago- Slight Reach
Everywhere else= match or lower

No school is unrealistic...there's a significant chance you could be accepted to a school listed above.

are you a recruited athlete??

No. I looked at the cross country times for some schools. I'm just below par. And besides, I'm not going to run competitively because of knee and shin problems.

Would it help if I said my new UW GPA is 3.70...the school recalculated the GPAs...In the middle of the college process. Everyone's went up. Talk about grade inflation.
I'm not really applying anywhere else but the medprograms, Brown, Columbia, and NYU.
The UChicago app is wayyy too much work.
However, I do find out whether I get in ED in two weeks...VIA MAIL! grrr. Fat envelope, thin envelope. It's killing me!
