<p>**I'm going to take the SAT I in october one last time. to boost it I'm pretty confident I can raise it by at 100 points. </p>

Church Orchestra Viola player - 4 years
Violin Teaching program (5 students) - 2 years now
*<em>in a few months I'll be going to Korea for more extensive volunteer programs with teaching children violin
*</em>last year I went to Mexico for a missions trip and demonstrations in Taekwondo to raise money and to help spread the gospel
Captain of the Ultimate Frisbee team this year (4 years in participation overall and 2nd year, 5th in States competition)
In a selected Orchestra Council to organize activities and trips for the orchestra
10th grade - with a group of 2 more students, got up to the national level of the Chemagination Chemistry Competition</p>

<p>I'll also add that in my sophomore year... the year my GPA took a super major hit and plunged... I broke my ankle severely in three areas and was on morphine for 2 months. Not only that but I ended the year with not a terrible GPA but I had two 79.4's that weren't rounded up for me even though my teachers knew WELL enough that I could've easily gotten at least a B in their classes... but due to the drugs i was messed up</p>

<p>I would probably avoid really making excuses for the lower GPA. I might mention the reason and attempt to elevate the other good aspects. </p>

<p>The GPA certainly will hurt a little though. Future Major?</p>

<p>uhhh welll my counselor did tell me to add the note that I was high off morphine for 2 months and did affect my grades. i won't make it TOO big of a deal though. just stating it.</p>

<p>as for major. something in political science? then later journalism possibly or international relations...</p>

<p>It actually might be better for your counselor to write that note...it makes it seem more official and less like an excuse. Just stating.</p>

<p>That'd probably be the best route. I know someone who had a lot of success with that at GTown.</p>

<p>No problem. It will definitely not be easy and you will need to frame your words/discussion both in the application and the interview very carefully.</p>

<p>I also was involved in the top orchestra (out of 3 orchestras) in my school for 3 years. NJ regionals Orchestra for 2 years, going for my third. placed 4th and 5th in my region seating. </p>

<p>8 years of taekwondo, 1st degree black belt, real world application in demonstrating for missions trip in Mexico</p>

<p>I am also in 2-3 quartets playing in gigs and fundraising or volunteering concerts/performances. Need-to-play basis. hehe</p>
