Thinking more about UCR [or insert school here] (Part 2)

I remember aviva_dawn's thread from about a month ago...

Well, lately, I've been thinking more and more about going to UCR as well. I guess the strength of my majors' departments and the unique programs they offer (both compared to other UCs I applied to) far outweigh superficial aspects. Maybe this is because a few months ago I just wanted UCR to be my safety so I didn't do much research on it and was taken aback by a few sour testimonies. But the more digging I do, the more I begin to realize that this campus may just be it for me. Yes, I'm still awaiting other campuses' decisions, but we'll see how it goes.

Anyone else feel this way? Not just with UCR, but other schools you never even thought about attending? I'm sure there's more than just a few of us here.

btw, aviva... jw, any update?

if it's for you GO...don't listen to people talk about reputation etc..the fact is that harvard might be the best school but it might be not for YOU..it's all about YOU at the end....after all you are the one who has to spend four years there...

my point exactly.

...and 2 years, not 4. the next two years (er, 3) thereafter I plan on spending at law school.

see you there (business transfer).

I'm at UCR... and I want out! The school's academics are alright, though the people are not that great. You should read the reviews at www.studentsreview.com on UCR. There's some interesting views on UCR. There aren't many classes for you to take except for the basics. For example, I'm a business econ major but I don't feel the classes that I'm taking will sufficiently prepare me for the field. A bigger university has more strenuous requirements and more types of concentrations.

I am also a student at UCR, and I am hoping to transfer to UCSB or UCLA. I am not going to list the reasons why because I do not want to deter someone who is considering UCR. If you would like to know what I think of UCR, then just sent me a message.
