thinking of applying to Wesleyan U ED

I am seriously thinking about applying to Wes ED.
I love this school. I feel like I can fit in here--the student body is slightly weird--in a good way of course!!--loves to learn, and is individualistic. The place, it's so free and quirky also.

I want to apply ED to Wes partly bc the acceptance rates are very high (43%), but I just saw a past topic on this board that said ED candidates are usually even more highly qualified.

If I really stand out to them and show them that though I'm not as academically qualified, I do like to learn, and that Wes is a great school for me, I have a chance right?

Thanks!

It is not significantly easier to get in ED as opposed to regular for most schools, even if the acceptance rate is significantly higher. This is because ED applicant pools are usually stronger, as you mentioned, but more importantly because many schools like Wesleyan take many of their recruited athletes/etc ED as opposed to regular so the numbers are a little misleading. However, if it is definately your first choice, go for ED! it does show them its your first choice which is good :)

Applying ED definitely does show your real interest in the school, and helps admissions feel like if you think it's a really good fit for you, maybe it IS really a good match. It does still give you a bump, definitely. :) I applied ED, got in, and have been thrilled with my decision. If it's your first choice, go for it!

How is Wesleyan in regards to financial aid, particularly when one applies through Early Decision??

that thread is about ED financial aid.

you get the same financial aid no matter when you apply.
