Hey guys I want to study Latin and greek as stated in my earlier posts. You guys were able to steer me in the right direction. I was wondering If i can study Ancient Greek and Latin and use this degree to teach highschool history?
Probably not unless you also take the required history and social studies classes required for a degree. You might be able to teach HS FL.
Look into the UMass Amherst MAT program through their classics department. I don’t know too much about it, but it may offer some answers.
Also, in many states you just need to get a passing score on the social studies PRAXIS test to teach secondary history, along with an undergrad degree and teaching credential. If you know where you’d like to teach, you can research that state’s requirements.
