Thinkpad T410 Ok for CS major?

I'm going to be majoring in math/computer science, and I was wondering if my T410 would be sufficient, or if I should save up for a new desktop. I'm currently running an i5 with 8gb of RAM and will probably be buying an SSD soon. I was thinking about hooking it up to a dock, and pushing it through dual monitors for home use with an external mouse and KB, but I'm not 100% sure if a laptop could handle that continually.

you dont need a laptop OR pc.

Yeah, I guess I got a bit carried away.

As long as you can run a program to connect to your school’s server, then you’re good. Anything with Windows 7 on it will do. You only need a good computer if you’re doing graphics/games programming.

Dual monitors will be quite helpful though.

Any laptop that you would find usable as a non-CS major will be completely adequate as a CS major. In the worst case, you’ll surely have access to a computer lab with everything you’ll need.
