This does NOT seem right... Averaging SAT scores?

I was talking to my school's "Career Center Counselor" and she said if you take the SAT twice, they average your score when you put in an application. I have never heard anyone say that before, I thought both scores were listed individually on your college application. Am I just uninformed or is this woman a REALLY bad counselor?!

They are listed individually sometimes, or often just the top scores are taken. The woman is a fool.

As to college applications, there is no college in the US that asks you for your average SAT score if you took the test more than once. Moreover, the majority of colleges calculate your total SAT score by using your highest section scores from multiple tests and the rest take your highest single sitting SAT score.

sounds like a crappy counselor...
