So, I have been a member of Key Club since the 9th grade, but in the 11th I was president, and this year I have been elected Lt. Governor for the State's District, and also have been appointed Committee Chair by our Governor. How do I put this on the common app? I put Community Service in the drop down box, and then in the positions held box i wrote:
Key Club-President-11th grade. Elected State Lt. Governor and appointed Committee Chair- 12th.

then that last box i have been leaving blank since...it seems like a bit of a repeat of the above box. Does that seem like it is a little too much to put on one activity slide? What should I do?

I am just going to double up questions because this seems more efficient. Where does an internship go? It worries me that they do not have that option in the drop box.

And if I am supposed to place it there, which I am assuming I must…if it was for a politician should I put it under student govt/politics?

Sorry! My school does not really offer much help for this kind of stuff so I am on my own here, and completely clueless!

Nah, you’re doing it fine. For the description box I would briefly describe any big projects you may have organized or any awards–whatever you’re proud of. No need to repeat your positions. I’m pretty sure every college knows what Key Club is, anyhow!

Edit: You can list the internship as “work” or “other,” I think. Just include the word “intern” somewhere and describe the nature of the work. “Student gov’t” generally refers to student council/leadership at your school.

One more question to throw out there: If I am applying early to one school, and I have already added like 5 schools to my “My Colleges” list, when I hit submit for one school, will it immediately submit my common app early to all schools?
If I were to take those schools off of my list for now, can i add more schools after I have hit submit? And also…can I edit my common app at all after adding those new schools? If I can even do that that is…

You could also describe this in detail in the additional information area they give on the common app, or in the additional document, i.e. short resume, they allow you to put on as well…
