I am a freshman. Yes, you read correctly, before you reply with a reponse telling me to take the SATs this is a little different. Overal I messed up first semester. At least to mine and my parents' standards. It wasn't until after first semester that I decided to step up.

My question though is how much(estimate) will my GPA be able to improve by senior year.I really wish to attend an ivy league university. And Princeton has been a dream of mine, but after these grades I don't believe I can make it. I am going to go for pre-med.

So here it is( Last semester's grades):

Hon. Eng: 92
Alg 2: 83
Environmental and Earth sci: 85
Art 1: 98
Computer applications: 98

This semester( current grades):
Hon. Bio: 92
U.S. History 1: 100
Sewing concepts: 99
Physical Education: 97
Greek and Latin roots: 96

If I remember correctly my GPA is around a 3.3 not exactly sure.
I have also been looking at ome public ivies such as Penn state and Rutgers. Yes i agree big step from Princeton.
Any advice for getting a higher shot would be extremely appreciated (:

There is a HUGE number of schools between Rutgers and Princeton.
Even if you had straight-A’s, Princeton would still be a long-shot (simply because they get thousands of applicants with straight-As and have to reject most of them).

You need to do a lot of research. There are hundreds of excellent schools out there. Not everybody can go to Princeton, in fact more people can’t than can!

You probably have like a 3.8 or something. Chill, Princeton isn’t all about perfect grades, you need to demonstrate your passions through ECs, Essays, Recs, and other such things. Although grades, rank, GPA, ACT/SAT, workload are all really important, their not the only deciding factor. 3.8 is good. 4.0 is better. People have gotten into Ivies with less and gotten rejected with more. Relax.

Its just 2 B’s. Its not that bad. As long as you take the most challenging courses avaliable to you, have good EC’s, and do well on standardized test, you should have a pretty good chance. Plus, there are other factors besides your GPA and grades that princeton and other ivy league schools look at. And 3.3??? Seems a little wierd. I would talk to your counsler to help determine how they got that. Similar thing happened to me, turns out it was a mistake and they fixed it right up. Hope that helps.
