This is me speculating but what do you need to transfer to..

a decent engineering university o_o?

I just got my first B (I'm a freshman at the moment attending a community college) in calculus 1 (it was an 89 >_< soo close to an A) and will be transferring hopefully spring 2013 or fall 2013 depending on some colleges.

My gpa with that 1 B atm is a 3.8. I know I will get A's from here on out again, because well, I cant simply let that happen again D:

so the most likely gpa when I transfer will be around 3.8-3.9 and ill be transferring with after completely Calc 1 - 3, differential equations, linear algebra, phys w/ calc 1 & 2, and pretty much few literature classes and 1-2 programming classes. (roughly 60-70 credits in total)

my extracurricular is nonexistant my freshman is nonexistant (I didnt know how I'd handle college and what not) but my sophomore year I plan on joining the science club and I was told there is an engineering club at my school so probably that as well. I am part of the Honors Program in my community college but I doubt that holds any weight when im transferring.

Colleges I'm hoping to transfer in the order of:

"Yeah right, keep dreaming"
.
.
.
"Safety"

so far its:

UC Berkeley
UC Davis/Irvine
Georgia Tech
University of Florida
University of Central Florida

any thoughts or any more information I should put out :/? That one B has made me realize maybe I cant maintain this 4.0 before transferring, so gotta narrow my choices

In what state are you a resident? If cost is a factor, that should help narrow your list since they’re all publics that give very little FA to OOS students.

I’m in florida, and the last 2 choices are my state colleges that I’ll consider applying to. If I get accepted to the remaining choices then I will take my chances with loans

but im not sure how likely i would get accepted with everything mentioned in the original post

People on the UC Transfer subforum should be able to tell you about the CA schools.

I’m guessing you’re going to run into the problem of engineering majors being impacted, at least at UCB and perhaps at the other UCs as well.

What about the non-UC colleges?

I’m not really familiar with the other schools.
