This Is Us. Anyone watching?

I was just going to say what JHS said - that is wasn’t just losing the phone momentarily - it was being obsessed with having the photos on it - memories.

Wasn’t that the first time we’ve seen preschool kids? The whole making the bed theme was done well.

I think while I can understand Rebecca not wanting to throw a doc visit into the holiday mix, it was much more than that. She was not interested in a doc visit then - or anytime soon.

I’m worried about Kate and the neighbor. That something is going to happen to him (another stroke) that will take Kate down. Interesting that she didn’t try to stop the neighbor from feeding Jack avocado but she sure was insistent on Toby not starting a new food!

Beth hovering over Deja and Milek - lol! Beth is such a beautiful woman!

The dementia stuff is tough. I think the writers are capturing the personality change that can come with Alzheimer’s: lashing out, defensiveness, etc. I lose my phone all the time, so I didn’t think that alone was indicative of a problem (hope not anyway.)

And what about Young Kate’s boyfriend? I was surprised he called Rebecca by her first name. He was so casual and comfortable in Rebecca’s home. I could see the signs of him being controlling.

And as with every week, this Philly native enjoys the shoutouts to Philly icons. Last week’s was boathouse row and Rita’s. This week was Nick’s… My family used to drive from North Philly to South Philly just to get a Nick’s roast beef sandwich.

@taverngirl, I would start with her Primary Care physician.

@VMT It wasn’t Nick’s roast beef – which was very good, but hasn’t existed for a decade or more. It was DiNic’s roast pork with sharp provolone and greens at the Reading Terminal Market, a great version of what most adult Philadelphians consider the true feature regional sandwich, much better than cheesesteaks. Randall (and his scriptwriters) got that right. We take lots of our out-of-town guests there. We might take them to Tony Luke’s in South Philly, but that’s a lot less convenient for us.

@JHS I stand corrected, though the original Nick’s on South 20th is still very much around as far as I can tell.

I stand corrected, too, I guess. I never knew Nick’s was anywhere other than Old City, and the “old original” one is in a neighborhood where I have never spent any time. It turns out someone is still using the name “Nick’s Roast Beef” at the Old City location, too, but it’s totally different, essentially just a generic sports bar. I guess the original owners screwed something up when they expanded 50 years ago, because there’s that restaurant and another in the Northeast using “Nick’s Roast Beef” but not connected to the South Philly store.

Nevertheless, it was definitely DiNic’s roast pork they were eating in Randall’s office last week.

I assume it’s Thanksgiving tonight. Meanwhile, we and everyone else in Philadelphia are trying to figure out exactly where the Philadelphia Pearsons are living. The show is very vague about that.

So I tired to watch and text someone at the same time and missed a few things. What text did Kate read on her phone? ANd when Kate asked Tess what she hated, it was something about Deja’s mother doing so well, but I didnt here what it was- just that Kate said it was “bad” (or words to that effect).

And interesting flashes forward to kevin at 40 living in a log cabin and saying his fiancee had morning sickness and not on speaking terms with Randall.

Kevin walks away from Hollywood and says he wants a wife an a kid… but how/why did he and Randall have a fight?

Interesting flashes back and forth between Rebecca confused when buying a pie and when buying flowers. Anyone else watch?

@jym626 I watched! It made me sad!
The phone was Toby’s, and Kate saw a message from the CrossFit group. The last text was from someone called Lady Kryptonite telling Toby, “Don’t let her get you down “.

The thing Kare said that was bad was that she hated CrossFit Toby. Doesn’t bode well for them!

Hate the future twist with Kevin and Randall!

Thanks@NJWrestlingmom- I heard what Kate said to tess. I didn’t hear what Tess first said to Kate (about Deja’s mom). What did she say?

Who else noticed Kate’s signature on the police report when they brought Rebecca back? As the 40th birthday was to be 9 months after Thanksgiving, it is know that Rebecca is ill; wonder if that is what drove Randall and Kevin apart. I was thinking Kevin was angry that Randall did not tell them earlier?

Remember- the previews last year show Rebecca in the hospital and Randall showing up.

Are we to assume, @snowball, that Kate signed with her maiden name?

Yes, she signed Kate Pearson; I am assuming she changed her name when she married Toby, especially since they showed a close up of her signing. I am guessing they separated shortly after Thanksgiving.

Beth is Randall’s wife…her bad thing was that she was upset that Deja’s mom was doing so well.

Thanks- Yes I understand that. I just didn’t hear what she said to Kate when Kate responded “that is bad!” (I know its was about Deja’s mom doing so well- just wondered what she said)

Beth literally said, “I hate that Shonda is doing so well.”

Help me remember how old the triplets are on the Thanksgiving we saw tonight with family gathered in Philly?

I am trying to figure out how much time between that event and their 40th Birthday we saw a glimpse of.

Thanks, YDS.

I assumed that Randall and Rebecca were in cahoots about her health … that she would agree to see the doctor if Randall didn’t make a big deal about it. Then, she is found wandering, and the truth comes out that he knew and everyone is pissed off.

If Kevin already has a pregnant fiancee I am guessing that my earlier assumption that Cassidy got pregnant during their one-night stand is accurate? Her son isn’t there, but neither is Toby or Jack … that we saw, at least.

They are 39. Remember, Randall gives Kevin a hard time that if we really wants to be married with a family by the time he’s 40 he better get on it.

Oops, Apologies I meant Beth. Was thinking about how Tess came out (fun!) but I also missed what she saw on her phone before she excitedly ran to her room to deal with all the responses (it was a photo of someone she had a crush on maybe?) Sis someone see that? Thanks in advance.

Yes, Tess participated in a viral thing where you post a picture of your celebrity crush. She knows that if she posts a picture of Zendaya she’ll be outing herself as gay and was nervous to do so. As it turns out, everyone at school was cool with it.

ETA: Dh and I were afraid that when she came out to the clown in the drive-thru they’d pull up and it would be a classmate at the window and things would go horribly wrong. We were so relieved!
