Spin offs scare me, LOL. They can be the worst duds. I think I’m finished.
A friend in Scotland just posted that she was crying while watching the episode. I didn’t think about people overseas watching it.
For every Better Call Saul or Frasier, there are 10 Joey or The Golden Palace.
Thanks to you (and @oldmom4896) for directing me to where I could watch the last few minutes of The Train. I have no complaints with this episode, apart from the number of tissues I used on my second watch
Agreed! And then them staying together? But I will survive .
I saw a quote from the writers saying that they thought about having Nicky marry Sally but they thought it was a bridge to far (and frequent) in terms of childhood sweethearts.
I watched an interview with Mandy and looked up her music video. Mandy Moore - Candy (Video) - YouTube
I saw an Instagram post from Chris Sullivan (Toby) of the actors who portray Nicky, Kevin and Toby sitting on chairs outside a trailer looking at their phones and he posted that they were going to be a spinoff. I’d definitely watch that. One of them commented “about three old guys learning how to use their phones.” I’m not sure I’d want to watch a spinoff of any of the Big Three and their families.
I’m not sure if I’d like a spin-off either. But… I do like the idea that this group would have more to talk about in the future
New Idea - a show about Big Three home builders, with the veteran workforce.
If they did spin offs a la Yellowstone, I think that would work. Although the last season of Yellowstone felt like one big prelude to their various spin offs.
But a spin off about the veterans and big three builders if they can get Jennifer Morrison and Griffin Dunne, I’d be for that!
I’m not sure if this has been posted before, but I really enjoyed watching it and seeing the actors reflect on the show.
Cute excuse note!
Everyone enjoy the finale tonight! I will not be watching till days later likely unless I watch on my iPad at our AirBnb - we won’t be home to watch it live tonight and I can’t spoil the ending for my daughter who is behind. Not too worried because I don’t expect any big reveals tonight, just sweet wrap ups.
Was away for a few weeks and stayed away from this thread until I could catch up! H left for a business trip right after we got back home, giving me the time to binge all the episodes I had missed.
It’s been a year since I lost my parents - Mom went first and Dad followed just a few weeks after. D had mild dementia - had short term memory loss and timelines/dates got him very confused. When mom died, my brother and I had to make the same kind of tough decisions the big three went through. Both of us couldn’t be with dad full time and we had to hire full time caregivers. The long term picture didn’t look great - dad died within a week of my leaving home though. These episodes brought all those memories back and the tears - definitely not an easy time.
Hopefully this works!
I just remembered we will have election returns on tv all night. Can’t decide if it is worth trying to watch tonight or wait and stream tomorrow. Not sure I can handle the crawl covering the screen during the show!
I’m getting excited but it’s so weird - I never watch network tv, so seeing this in real time, with commercials, will feel foreign. I normally stream the next day, rewind, replay, etc.
I usually wait until around 9:15 EST so that I can skip the commercials.
Given the potential for breaking news on the tragedy in Texas, I think I am going to extend my DVR an extra hour.
That’s just what I did. Sad that I will always associate the last show with the shooting close to my dad’s hometown.
