Good rec's from jobs held.

Not applying for financial aid.

bump, bump… buuuump

I know people with lower SAT scores in the first four schools on your list, but they are all from Asia and none of them are transfer students, so probably i am not being helpful.

good to know. thanks.

Dartmouth and Penn take few transfers, and frankly with above stats are not worth the application. WashU and berkeley unlikely. The rest look good.

thanks. how about stanford or boston u?

Stanford — I’d say a big longshot

Boston U – I can’t find any transfer stats, but SAT is about 50% right now so I’d say you have a decent chance and some uniquely interesting EC;s

Of course, I have this unnatural fascination with Australia and NZ in general so if there is somebody on the admission committee with a similar idea then you may get a boost.

haha ok. it’s gotta be our accents!

Probably, but several of my favorite professors were Underlings. While they were very smart and very good teachers they just seemed a lot more open, laid back, and happy than a lot of equally bright people from US/UK schools. They weren’t as hypercritical as most of the US professors and seemingly depressed (maybe bitter) as it seemed most of my European trained PhD/MD’s seemed to be.

Everytime things are going badly, I start going to the NZ websites and looking for that nice mountainside to retire to (or maybe hide out). A nice little psychiatric inpatient facility in Perth sounds pretty pleasant some days.

i get that a lot. i don’t know what it is, i guess we just got raised to act relaxed and be less judgmental… speaking generics of course…

perth is a pretty good place to relax, make sure you live in the western suburbs - people will pay anything for a psych. and it also has nice beaches :D

UPDATE
reconsidering which universities - add vanderbilt, boston u and wesleyan u

:D

With Syracuse, you’re okay.

Some of these schools are such huge reaches that you shouldn’t even bother wasting money on their application fees… For example, Washington University at St. Louis.

ok cheers, man.

does anyone think i have any chance for nyu? that’s my dream uni…

Do some research. You think you may have a shot at Stanford when Dartmouth and Penn are a no go?!

Look at schools where your GPA and scores are what they expect from freshmen. Vandy and Wes would be tough. NYU maybe, but can you afford $55k/yr? No aid for intnls.

syracuse is a great school you’d be good for there

@redroses, when you put it that way i feel like an idiot haha. i’ll continue researching, thanks for your help.

on the funding side, i’ll have no problem with payment of uni fees - this seems to be my only plus!

@eloves2012, syracuse is in my top three. it does look like a nice school. do you go there?
