I don't understand why being a Legacy makes such a huge difference during the admissions process. Sometimes i think it' unfair. Both of my parents never went to college because they never had the opportunity to -_- but that's not my fault. So why does someone with a legacy have a better chance than me? The American education system is so corrupt. Actually, most systems in America are corrupt. No wonder the elite rule America and control over 90% of the money in this country.

i think it is better to focus on you getting in and not get bitter. be hopeful

i am hopeful. but i’m just expressing my frustrationnn.

I think that being a first generation college student is actually a plus during admissions…

It is my understanding that first generation is comparable to legacy as far as the boost it will offer you. But you get that boost at EVERY school you apply to. Stop whining.

being first generation will help you! colleges want to attract that demographic, and some even give really good financial aid. plus, you can only be a legacy at up to two places, but you’re first generation everywhere :)
