This year's Carleton Calendar is not so good....

<p>Every year Carleton puts out a Calendar. The alumni, like me, get it. This year's Calendar was basically pictures of the arboretum. The pictures are nice enough, but I usually hope for a calendar with images that are unique to Carleton (i.e. the Campus building, Students, Common student destinations in Northfield, Sports events, etc.) If I wanted a Calendar of nature, which is basically what this Calendar is, there are plenty of those in the world to buy. I guess many of the images in this Calendar could have been taken anywhere.</p>

<p>I’m not an alumnus (I’m the parent of a student) so I have a different perspective. But I happen to be a nature lover, and to me the arb is one of the things that sets Carleton apart. I get calendars from the colleges I attended, and they always seem to be the same…mostly buildings, students, sports. So…to each his/her own. Next year Carleton will probably put out a calendar that’s more to your liking, and maybe less to mine.</p>
