Thon begins in 24 hours!

There are quite a few ways to watch Thon online, as well. Sunday afternoon tends to be the most interesting, with total raised revealed that afternoon. Good luck to all the students participating, attending, and cheering!

Here’s a nice story about its humble beginnings. I was in this crowd, btw. The article fails to mention a few other changes over the last few decades.

Back in the day they only gave you something like a 3 min bathroom break every 8 hours. You would sprint down the hall to the bathroom so that you could have 1 min leftover to sit down. The breaks were also pre-planned. If you had to go during a time when you weren’t scheduled for your break, you were OUT! You had to be very careful what you ate, and when. I wonder if nowadays they let you go when you need to and just give you a certain number of breaks. That would be hard to keep track of but easier on the participants.

The thing I will never forget is how vivid the hallucinations were from the sleep deprivation.

One of the defining, exceptional events that exemplifies Penn State “culture.” So happy and proud of all involved.

I think we actually have that fish hat lurking in a closet.

So, TV4caster – was Mike the Mailman at your THON? He helped my son navigate the murky and uncharted waters of actually stamping and addressing an envelope a few years ago.

Seeing a pic of Christian Hackenberg playing Super Smash Bros. with young gamers … watching the video of the Men’s Hockey Team THON dance competition … the hard work, kindness and energy of all participants!

FTK – Over $13 million!

So very proud of Penn State.

Unbelievable–

Mr. Olbermann has cultivated public shaming and shamming into a notorious, bordering on maniacal, profession.
It really was only a matter of time.

Probably the best response I read was to challenge Mr. Olbermann to make a donation to THON.

So proud of what the Penn State students do with THON. Keith Olbermann is an idiot.
