<p>Stanford seems to have the most interesting results (most unique applicants), which appeals to me. I was wondering if those who got accepted could share their opinions/thoughts on why they think they were accepted.</p>

Or your ECs/Awards?
Did you have a 'hook'?
Did you have average scores and ECs, but showed passion for learning?</p>

<p>I had a very wide array of interests, but the one that was mentioned was my interest in international politics. This came out of the essays, namely the academic question one. I didn't have any of the classic hooks, but I did have a fairly substantial EC list, and very good recommendations (with one that was just awesome).</p>
