Hey guys,
So I'm applying to Ross, and if I don't get in I plan on pursuing a BA in Informatics.
If anyone has any thoughts on this schedule, let me know. I also applied to the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program, and the schedule below reflects that in the writing courses.

Semester 1:

LHSP Writing/LSA Writing
Math 115
Psych 111
SI 101 (Information Science)

Semester 2:

Econ 101
LHSP Writing/LSA Writing
Stats 250
PolSci 101

Does anyone know what Ross is really looking for besides Writing, Econ, and Math 115? Let me know what your thoughts are...

This looks fine. The most important thing to Ross is to take classes you’re interested in. They mean this when they say it, though they do want you to demonstrate strong quantitative skills. The schedule you posted looks a little less rigorous than some applicants so you’ll want to make sure you do well in them, but I definitely wouldn’t take “harder” classes just because they’re harder. Good luck :)

If you’re planning on doing informatics you should be taking a programming class, preferably first semester but definitely by 2nd semester. I would recommend replacing that Psych 111 with the intro programming of your choice. I think EECS 183 gets you out of BIT something if you get into the B-School, and I think you need it (or maybe it was EECS 182 which is very similar) for Informatics. Also it’s tougher than Psych 111 so it will be more impressive to Ross adcoms.

Don’t you need to take a foreign language course as well?

He might need to take foreign language if his native language is English and he doesn’t get enough credit from a placement test, but he doesn’t need to take it freshman year.
