Thoughts on my Junior Year Schedule

I’m a sophomore right now and I wanted some opinions on my schedule for next year. This year, I took/am taking Honors English 10 (B+), Algebra 2/Trig (speculation: A), Honors Biology (A), AP European History (speculation: A), Spanish 2 (A), Honors Spanish 3 (speculation: A), and Latin 1 (speculation: A) [my school goes on a semester schedule so a class is 2 marking periods, with the exception of AP Euro which is 3 marking periods]. Next year I will take:

AP English Language
Honors Precalculus/Trig
Honors Chemistry
APUSH
AP Macroeconomics
Honors Spanish 4
Latin 2
Business Administration

My main concern is AP Lang. I got a B+ this year in Honors English 10 but I think I got that grade because I really didn’t try enough and I procrastinated A LOT. Could someone tell me how the course is and how hard I should study in the class to get an A? If possible, I would like to get an A in AP Lang.

Also, AP Macroeconomics is a course offered to seniors but I got the approval of my guidance counselor to take it in junior year. Could someone tell me how this course will be? Will there be a lot of math involved?

By the way, I want to apply to the Huntsman Program at UPenn and I’m afraid that my schedule isn’t competitive enough.

Thanks in advance for your input.

A lot will depend on the teachers. Ask around. At our high school, AP Lang is a lot of writing, a lot. If you are strong in writing it will probably be easier for the A. AP Econ is fairly new at our high school. From what the students say it is an easier AP course. Again it can greatly depend on the teacher.

@jcmom716 Thank you for your response!

You’re a strong student, you should e able to do it, it’s pretty par-for-the-course if you want to z competitive for Huntsman.
Ask your gc whether you’re allowed to drop down in one course if you find this is an overload for you or take a free period instead of business administration (that one class will not help you for Huntsman because it’s considered a vocational course so it’s easy to drop.)

@MYOS1634 Thanks for your input! My gc told me that if AP Lang is too much I can drop down to Honors English 11.
