Thoughts on my overall schedule?

Freshman year (rank #4/450):
World History HN
English 2 HN
Algebra 2 HN
Phys Ed 1 (required)
Art 1
Latin 2
Leadership (required for freshmen)
Health and Wellness
Bio 1 HN

Sophomore year (#2/400)
Ap Euro
English 3 HN
Chem 1 HN
SAT/ACT prep (embeds with AP)
Geometry HN
Latin 3 HN
integrated business applications (req)
Health Science 1

~took med terms over the summer~

Junior Year (#3/358)

Ap biology
Probability and statistics HN
US History HN
Advanced composition and creative writing
Anatomy and Physiology
Health Science 2
AP English Lang

Senior Year (upcoming year)

CNA course (HN level)
Personal Finance
Precalculus
Digital desktop publishing
Ap Macroecon
Ap Us Gov
Ap English Lang

Side note, the only HN classes I had left were precalculus HN and Latin 4 HN, which were both ONLY offered the same block as AP macro. Dual enrollment wasn’t an option until this upcoming school year, and it would’ve bumped me out of my CNA course for English 101 (which I might place out of with APs already). Couldn’t fit in any more APs (and believe me, my GC wants to strangle me by now, I bugged her so much about my schedule.) I made all As in every class every year, have been ranked in the top 1% of students every year, and have maintained an unweighted 4.0 GPA every year.

Any input is appreciated! I still have time to move around my schedule a little bit for next year, so if you have a suggestion let me know! Thanks!

This is a bit confusing to read, so before I reply I’m going to organize your schedule a bit

Take latin, you need 3-4 years of a language. Why are you taking AP English Lang again? Also It would’ve been better to take precalc and then calc senior year, then taken statistics in college, but it’s too late now. You seem to be doing very well though.

I’m so sorry about the formatting, apparently this thread double-posted and rearranged itself somehow! Thanks for straightening it out for me!

First, I’m taking Ap English Lit, sorry for the mix up! At my school, probability and statistics is a required classes for graduation and is almost always considered a pre-req for precal, which is why I took it junior year instead of precalculus.

My issue with Latin is that the only way for me to take it would be to drop AP Macroeconomics. I have to take economics to graduate, so I would have to take regular level economics instead (no honors offered). Regular Econ is a 9 weeks class, and I have to embed it with another regular class (free blocks and honors classes aren’t available.) These two classes carry a maximum weighted GPA of 5, versus the honors 5.5 or the AP 6, so I chose the combination of courses that would offer the highest possible GPA.

My class rank is likely going to be #2 at the beginning of the year, and the valedictorian has also run out of higher level classes, so I could end up #1 if I’m beating her by 3rd quarter recalculation. If I drop AP mac and take Latin instead, my class rank will drop to between 8-15 (we’re all incredibly close for the top 20).

Basically what I’m asking, is getting the fourth language credit worth the drop?

If you’ve already got 3 Latin classes on your transcript, you’re fine.
