Thoughts on Taft

Any input on Taft? I've heard good things about the academics, campus and location, but would appreciate any input.

If you look at Taft’s campus, you’ll see that most of the buildings are connected. I think that would help strengthen the community. My interviewer told me that at a lot of schools it takes them like 10 minutes to go from one class to another, but at Taft you can get anywhere in two minutes except for the athletic facilities. They are also in the process of building a new dining hall. I know that they recruit a lot of athletes and have a lot of school spirit.

Sorry i don’t know too much, but here’s what I’ve heard - someone really high up in admissions at a really prestigious university (I won’t mention which one, but it’s an Ivy) told someone I know that Taft is academically as good as any HADES school and she feels that it combines excellent academics and a great community to give a wonderful experience. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback. Taft seems to have a lot of the qualities I am looking for!

can you guys give more information. it seems Taft is really underrepresented on CC and its one of my favorites I just need more info on it to get a solid feeling abut it.

Anyone have information on Taft sports program? Which sports do they excel in, etc.?

why rely on cc for sports info? go on their website to see their teams and wins and losses. Taft is a wonderful school that is not quite as academically rigorous as Andover/Exeter/Hotchkiss/St.Paul. Traditionally they have taken a number of kids with some sort learning issues such as ADD. They have a great support center. Because the academics arent cutthroat there is a huge community spirit there. But dont misunderstand me, most of the kids are really bright. Its just that there is room for those that arent stellar in their grades, unlike some of the other schools. I hesitate to generalize but there is a huge amt. of kids that go to Trinity College (CT) from there. If that parallel helps it should explain Taft

how are their academics
