Wish you good luck!
If interested in medicine - go for NJIT/NJMS
If not interested in medicine, go for Rice
A couple of years back, a student was rejected pre-interview by TCNJ and forwarded by two other feeders to NJMS. NJMS interviewed and selected her. She was told that she could choose any of the feeders including the one that rejected her pre-interview! TCNJ emailed her and told her officially as well.
Your (@Pearl07) comment jolted my memory to the following post from last year. Not to sway anyone’s opinions, but thought most may find it interesting. The poster did not mention though what/where his/her child ended up landing at.
Wow that’s insane
Does any of you know the University of the Sciences(Philadelphia)/LECOM program? We are wondering if SBU/LECOM is better or University of the Sciences/LECOM is better.
TCNJ sent an email a few minutes ago confirming the NJMS acceptance.
It’s definitely not the safest area but I will say that my older sister went to undergrad at Rutgers Newark (dormed there too) and felt that campus safety did a good job of making her feel safe during her time there. I wouldn’t discount NJMS solely based on location concerns, I’d recommend checking out Julia Carter on YouTube (a current 4th year medical student at NJMS who recently matched at UPenn for Internal Medicine)
Congratulations I guess that’s it for us as we did not get any email from TCNJ, I am glad it more clear now my D going to Hofstra 4+4 thank u all on this forum.
Do you mind if I ask you if TCNJ gave any scholarships for UG?
8k per year.
Awesome so COA is then aroing 22K per year right. That’s.not bad
Instate COA is around 37k, so it should be 29k
I am glad i found this forum, thanks all, appreciate the information sharing… Is anyone here contemplating of choosing between 3+4 vs 4+4 BS/MD ? The way i was thinking is if you are decided in med why spend an additional year in UG… you also save on money… Please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
If you want to go for competitive specialists, having good UG research experience is a plus. With 3 year UG it may be tough. I am seeing few BSMD students taking gap years to get more research.
I got into the University of Cincinnati BS/MD Program!!! This was the only BS/MD Program I got an interview at (out of 9). To anyone who reads constantly on College Confidential and other websites - “all you need is one acceptance,” I can honestly say, all you need is one!! :))
I wonder how many of these doctors pay attention to current trends. Most IMG/FMG doctors had no college experience in US, are risk averse and wants easier path for their kids. That’s the advice my son got too four years back but he decided differently and worked out well for him. So one need to go by kids strengths and interests. Lot of people were surprised by his medical school choice also but he has broader plans.
Thanks, makes sense
Thanks appreciate you inputs
