I completed the why medicine essay through the common app, and I did not receive AMC supplemental essay.
same here. My D completed why medicine essay during the common app and did not receive supplemental essays from bsmd programs.
Does anyone know where the SUNY Polytechnic portal is to check your application status. I have been trying to find it, but it seems like they don’t have one.
Congrats!!!
my letter was postmarked 12/08, but i received it last night
Believe you are OOS, correct?
Thanks!
Yes, we’re OOS
Congratulations
Yes, I also completed the why medicine essay on the common app but have not received the AMC supplemental essay. Still trying to be hopeful at this point as its on a rolling basis.
Where is why medicine on Commonapp?
Does AMC send supplements to all who are forwarded by RPI/Union/Sienna or they send the supplements only for selected applicants (another filtering)?
The supplemental is from AMC after RPI screens and forwards your application to AMC. This is a part of regular MD admission process too. Regular MD applicants submit these supplements with fees to on average 20-25 medical schools they apply.
Those applying to Drexel/Drexel will have to pay up a fee to medical school when their application is forwarded to the medical school.
Not every applicant to RPI/AMC will receive the AMC supplemental as they screen the applicant pool. It has nothing to do with your completing an essay on common app.
Check the AMC website for their policy - Do they send supplemental to all regular MD applicants or screen them ?
Here is their profile of MD class - Pretty low bar UG GPA 3.5-3.6 , MCAT 510 where as NJMS has UG GPA 3.7 and MCAT 514 for their 2024 MD class
Our current first year class average overall GPA is 3.6. The average science GPA is 3.5. The total mean MCAT score is 510 (82%) with a breakdown of; 128.00 Biological and Biochemical Foundations and Living Systems, 127.50 Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems, 128.00 Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior, and 127.00 Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills.
This is strange, we did not get supplement from ACHS. We just got a call and we were told that we will hear back from Suny Upstate
The SBU-GWU program has no specific major requirement, right?
You were forwarded to Upstate without submitting the ACPHS essays through the portal first?
I currently attend AMC, and matriculated through the Union/AMC program. They definitely screen all applicants before sending supplementals to the traditional route applicants. I believe that the UG GPA and MCAT averages for AMC would be higher if they included the 45 students who matriculated through BS/MD programs. All of my classmates from Union had GPAs of at least 3.8, and I’m sure that we would have scored well on the MCAT.
