Hmm. That’s strange. I have a few friends who definitely interviewed at NJIT solely for admission into ADHC in past years. Maybe it isn’t widespread for all accepted students?
Does anyone know if applicants are considered equally after the interview stage, or if essays, stats, etc. still come into play in addition to the interview?
what are the TCNJ interviews like? is it a current BSMD student interviewing us or just their undergraduate representative? And is it like medically-focused (like medical ethics questions)?
Interviewed this past week. Interview is very ethics-focused. Interview is by one of the program directors. Be prepared for a lot of curveball questions. This wasn’t like any of my interviews so far.
good question. I am interested in the answer too.
Bookmarked the word Holistic
So still nothing from RPI… at this point, should we consider that its done!!
Did any of you apply to NJMS BSMD through Drew or Stevens ? Did you hear back from them.
So far we received supplement through caldwell only among NJMS feeders
The consensus from the past seems to lean towards the opinion that everyone will be at level playing ground at interview stage and it is mostly based on how one does at the interview. May be true by and large.
But need not be everywhere and always. For example if one checks the section of BU common data set where they indicate the factors deemed important in their selections, interview is not listed under either Very important or Important. So they may be more holistic in their approach.
Did anyone hear back from Adelphi/SUNY upstate after the interviews were concluded on the 14th?
My D applied for Stevens NJMS BSMD we did not hear anything back…
All’s quiet on the interview front but at least the scholarship info has come in- Hofstra Presidential for $30.5k per year total $122k and VCU for Provost and another $8k for total around 96k.
Hofstra came via mail today and was dated 12/15, which seems really fast to go from NY to Florida. VCU’s came via email. Neither are viewable in his portal yet.
He is taking a well deserved break after his heart broke- he ended with an 89% in physics, highest grade in the class but death toll to his college 4.0. Hope everyone else gets a chance to rest over holiday break!!! Good luck to everyone and what is about to be the busy time for admissions!
No word for us also
No, I had my interview, but no further correspondence
For students who received invite air mail from Pitt BS/MD but have not received email with credential to finish the application, you should send email to Medicine GAP (listed in the letter)to let them know that you haven’t received it yet. My D sent email to them and received email back with next steps info.
Yup, I just did this and they sent it immediately
i just got the email from UPitt
Congrats to your son on the well deserved scholarships and great news to Stanford’s admissions. Tell him to take a break and recoup for wave of BS/MD essays and interviews.
Kids are amazing with challenges or competitions. I’m amazed with their accomplishments from reading CC threads.
Good luck !!!
Congratulations!!! GPA is not everything, he tried his best and he has all offers in front of him already.
Yes. My son received the same about a month ago. We have not heard anything on Med Scholars program yet either. The program says to maintain 3.65 GPA and MCAT 500 (I believe) and follow the program guidelines to move to med school. I wonder if it that’s simple. They accept lots of students (Last I heard over 75 or so) and I suspect there must be another filter to reduce the number of students graduating to med school. Do you have any insight? How east it is to maintain 3.65 GPA etc… Thanks
