With lots of goodies. These reports are popping up near and on campuses all over the US. A recent rash of strong armed robberies around the Udub in Seattle just came to light.

Students from suburbs may not know how to take basic precautions in cities, such as walking along isolated blocks by themselves late at night with headphones on, or while concentrating on their texting. In my area, we’ve had arrests of some young gang members who said they were sent to rob college students for their initiation. There has also been some home invasions and robberies of college students who didn’t even lock their door.

Not just in major cities either. Similar things have happened in Charlottesville, Ann Arbor, Madison, Chapel Hill etc.

I see that it happened in Ann Arbor just this past December.

Yes and I wanted to avoid singling out schools known to be in rougher areas. It is happening at places that rarely had such problems and where students felt safe anywhere anytime. Students need to consider how they migth handle such a situation and how to avoid getting into them, if possible. Also better backup that laptop–you might not have a chance tomorrow. I think some of it is tied to gangs and others are it’s just easier than dealing drugs, ect which is very risky–both from the cops and fellow dealers.
