i normally use an 89 for school and everything, but seeing as that is not allowed =( , i'm curious if there are programs for the TI-84 Plus (that I borrowed from my friend) that will let me use much of the equation-solving/factoring functionality that I'm so fond of in the 89?

i'm really hoping there is, although I could probably do fine without it...it just makes it easier toward the end of the math section.

ouch...harsh! haha, i probably deserved that :)

i went investigating and found a few highly comprehensive programs and I'm quite happy, but I'm curious if the OS of the calc can be changed to something resembling the 89.

I checked ticalc, but they didnt have anything...any help?

you really don't need those functions
Math is the section which gives you the most time and the questions are simple enough without even a graphing calculator

i am borrowing a 83 plus cuz the button on my scientific ones are sticky and insensitive. but 89 titanium all the way!! (when i am not taking the ACT)

haha that's funny slugger - that's the one i downloaded before, as well as a really big/comprehensive one called Allmath (I think I'll use the bigger one tomorrow)

that's cool; yeah, rainy, i know that the math section is the easiest, and i usually do pretty well (~35) on the section, but i was just looking, basically, for a TI 89 in an 84's body - some sort of program that does this (although i would NEVER resort to those tricks that underhanded people use to change the innards of an 89 into an 84 grrr I hate those people) just so i can save some time from, you know, solving equations manually (boring...) or factoring or such

nvm tho... the programs i found are more than adequate
