TI-89 or T-nspire?

Hello, I am a rising junior. I'm planning on majoring in some kind of engineering or most likely computer science. I will also be taking the AP Calc BC/Physics tests as well as the Math 2 SAT subject test. So I would like to ask, which of the 2 calculators should I get and why? Please take into account how easy it is to learn to use the calc and how helpful it'll be during my tests.

PS. Excuse the title lol, I meant TI-nspire.

For SAT/ACT? TI-84 is by far the best. For engineering, get nspire. It has a learning curve though.

I know that the TI84 is pretty good with SAT/ACT stuff. For Calc, our school requires us to buy a TI89.

If I were you and had about $250 to spend on calculators, I’d get the TI-84+SE as well as the TI-89 Titanium. This combo is killer.

Why the TI-84 aswell as the 89? Can’t the 89 do everything an 84 can plus more?

^The 89 is sometimes banned in classes. SAT, Subject Tests, and AP all allow the 89, but many teachers don’t allow them.

My school provides us with 84’s for the year and n-spires the month before the AP test, so it wouldn’t be a problem for my Calc class. We can’t take the 84’s home however so my own calculator would come in handy. Is it common for college professors to ban 89’s but not 84’s?

^As far as I’ve heard, yes.
