Ti-nspire CAS for SAT math

Im taking the SAT in Jan and I am desperate at this point to raise my math score. Every section there is a problem or two where I am lost, and I was wondering if they are any programs on my calc to help me do those last couple problems. I will continue studying but I really wanted to know if there was any software/files I can put on my calc too. Thank you all so much!

Nothing replaces knowledge, thorough preparation, and a bit of cleverness.

The CAS isn’t allow on the SAT. The Ti-Nspire!

What was your math score

The TI-Nspire CAS is a great calculator for the SAT, but It can solve only the “hard” problems that involve equations.
It is not going to be easy to learn how to use it properly between now and the January test.

To tell you the truth, all problems can be solved without the calculator,

@ZainSD It is true that all SAT problems can be solved without a calculator by students with sufficiently good skills, but some problems can be solved much more easily and/or more quickly by some students with the algebra functions of a CAS calculator.

@NASA2014, I’m pretty sure that’s wrong. It’s not allowed on the ACT, but I think it’s fine on the SAT.

That being said, the SAT math section isn’t particularly formula-based, so there’s not a lot of obvious good stuff to put on a calculator in advance that will be clearly helpful. Maybe quadratic formula and a handful of others, but it’s slim pickings. That calculator has a lot of super-handy functionality, however, that, if you get comfortable with it, can save you a lot of time and reduce errors. It will solve algebraic equations for you and even solve systems of multiple equations with multiple unknowns. If you haven’t spent enough time with it to be familiar with that stuff, it would be well worth your time to do so. There are on-line tutorials and things that you might find helpful.

Merged two identical threads.

Yes, it’s allowed.

No, you shouldn’t answer every SATM question with it. That would be a precious time-waster and serve to lower your score.
