Tidbit re. famous people's kids (at Yale)

<li><p>Steven Spielberg's adopted son, Theo Spielberg, is a freshman in Timothy Dwight College</p></li>
<li><p>Denzel Washington's daughter, Katia Elizabeth Washington, is a freshman in Silliman College (I actually pass by her all the time since I'm also in Silliman)</p></li>
</ul>

<p>Some of the other freshmen on my floor say that they saw Denzel Washington helping his daughter move in on move-in day. I didn't get to meet him because I apparently have a knack for missing out on cool events.</p>

<p>It helps a lot. There are so many more I can think of, and I'm not even well-informed on this kind of scuttlebutt. At least a couple I found out simply by having section together and recognizing surnames.</p>

<p>Bette Midler's daughter, Governor Pataki's daughter, Lieberman's daughter, a son of Woody Allen & Mia Farrow... big names I can think of from the top of my head.</p>

<p>There are plenty of sons/daugthers of people who are famous but not SUPER famous. People who have nndb entries (<a href="http://www.nndb.com%5B/url%5D"&gt;www.nndb.com&lt;/a&gt;) but aren't as well-known as Steven Spielberg, I guess. One, in fact, is my suitemate, but I won't reveal his identity :). </p>

<p>In some sense it's cool, but most people don't really pay much attention at all. But there's no denying HOW much it helps to be related to important people.</p>

<p>There are definitely a few offspring of famous people around the Ivy League, and I won't try to argue that all of them are worthy of being admitted. I will, however, stick up for Mia Farrow / Woody Allen's son.</p>

<p>I think this is enough of a defense.</p>

I don't know her well, but she went to a high school near mine and we did some of the same ECs (ACLU, history day), plus she's a friend of a friend. wow, random connections blow my mind. the internet makes the world tiny, i swear.</p>
