<p>I think they used to have a tier 2, but those schools are in the first tier now.</p>

<p>I don’t think there is enough distinction between tier 1 schools (#20-50) and those formerly known tier 2 schools (#51-100) to make a tier distinction anymore.</p>
<p>Tier 1 National U’s (#1-110) all seem to provide numerous majors, research opportunities, and other similar requirements to be called a tier 1 school. Tier 3 national U schools seem to either have fewer majors and might only have real depth in a few majors.</p>
