I just emailed a graduate school professor. He responded a few minutes later; however, he did not answer whether he would be accepting graduate students for Spring 2015. I'm he needs to look over my CV and unofficial transcript. I also realize that it depends on the professor. But what is the average response time?

Also, am I too late in the game for Spring 2015 graduate school admission? I've just started contacting professors.

“Also, am I too late in the game for Spring 2015 graduate school admission?”
Graduate schools admit students for the Fall , not Spring.
Did you already apply for Fall 2014? And were told to reapply for Spring by a particular school? That would be unusual.

I have heard it depends on the university, the program, and the funding.

There is no average time to respond. Some professors will respond within a few minutes because they are on email 24/7, and some professors will take weeks or even months.

I would say if he hasn’t responded to you by the end of next week, you’re in the clear to email him back and check in. Also, if he didn’t answer a specific question in your email there’s a good chance he overlooked it, so don’t be afraid to re-ask. They’re humans, just like you or me - they don’t bite :D

Also, it is the unusual PhD program that does a spring admit. But if it’s a master’s program, it’s very possible.
