time management tips

So next quarter I will be taking a full load of classes. I am in my third year taking my required upper division EE classes. I will also be interning part time at FLIR for 10 -15 hours a week. I am also a member of my school's ski club where we have weekend trips every once and a while. So does anyone have good tips on how to manage this schedule. This will be the busiest schedule I have ever had in college and I am unsure if I bit off more than I can chew. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Treat coursework like a job.
In other words, set a 40-50 hour block each week (including transportation time) where you do nothing but schoolwork.
If you finish your work in this time, work ahead or go over old material/review.
Don’t let anything else cut into this time.
It’ll suck for the first few weeks but you’ll get into a pattern and the time will fly by.

Assuming you spend 20 hours each week in class, this + your internship should take up around 80 hours per week.
Assuming 6 hours of sleep each night, you still have more than 6 hours per day of free time.

I did my best in school when I was playing varsity sports as I had to get organized just to survive. Take your books to the ski meets. Read when ever you have chunks of time, like on the bus (or car) rides.

Just minimize leisure time and set priorities and time schemes… You can also go with the flow and everything will be fine…

Start doing your homework early and work on it through out the week, do not wait till the night before its due. I’ve found that slowly working through your homework will help you grasp concepts and improve your problem solving skills which makes studying for tests and quizzes much easier and less time consuming.

At the end of the semester you get what you put in, simple as that.
