How likely is it for a class to be switched to another quarter..For example if the 2006-2007 bulletin says Intro to Psych is offered in the Aut how likely is is that this year it will change and be offered in the Winter?

Introduction to Psychology (Psych 1) is offered every quarter.

lol i was just using it as an example..like any classs..for example Tech101 is offered in the winter this yr..what is the possiblity that next yr it will be offered in the spring

It depends. The large introductory classes always taught on a regular schedule. This is especially true of classes in sequence, like PHYSICS 41/43/45.

In theory, there's nothing really stopping a professor from offering a class whenever they feel like it - and this happens frequently with introsems and upper division classes that enroll < 20 people. A lot of these classes are taught in alternate years, in unpredictable quarters, or are never taught again. Most of the courses that you need to build up your major, though, are administered by the department, which makes sure that they will be taught when they are supposed to.

Sometimes, a major class will be taught an extra quarter or something. Awhile back, CHEM 31X was taught Autumn and Winter, though now it is generally taught only in Autumn. And this year, CS 106X was taught both Autumn and Winter, even though it's usually taught only Autumn as well. I can't really tell you if they will do that again. You will learn soon enough that the academic schedule is always prone to changes. Just keep checking Axess so that you don't miss anything.
