Hey guys, I need some advice/opinions. I applied to a handful of colleges as a transfer applicant (i currently attend a top 50 undergrad). I got into a few, but not into any of my top choices, putting me in a position where I don't want to transfer unless I get into those certain schools. I have been waitlisted by some privates and rejected by some UC's.

I am planning on appealing to CAL and LA, but am unsure of what to include in my appeal package. I currently have my appeal letter, my resume, and 2 great letters of recs from professors. I have good ec's that i have emphasized, and I feel that my letter + recs could very possibly put me into a good position for reconsideration. A concern I have is whether or not to include my transcript. The only thing that I feel is very lacking is my mediocre GPA. I was previously in a major that I hated and did not do so well. But last quarter and this quarter I have slowly implemented some econ classes into the mix and have done very well. This current quarter, I am taking all econ pre reqs and I think I will get a 4.0, but by the time grades are released, it will be too late. Last quarter, although I got an A in my econ classes, I did not do very well in the classes of my other major...making me hesitant to include that with everything else. I want to emphasize my strengths, not my weaknesses; but at the same time I don't want them to disregard my appeal completely because I was a fool to not include my transcript. Oh and on a side note, another reason why I am concerned about this, is that I briefly "defend/explain" my GPA situation in my letter and allude to certain grades I received in winter quarter, which they have not seen. I feel I may lack credibility if I don't provide the proof of the grades, but at the same time, I don't want them to see the bad grade that I receieved during the period.

Could anybody give some constructive, realistic, and helpful advice on what I should do? Responses are appreciated as I need to send this letter out asap.
