Tip: find out your admission decision right now, online (kind of)

I just discovered this and feel like it would be helpful to share with all of you who have not received your offical admissions decision notifcation in the mail.

CMU has this website set up for students who are waitlisted. It lets you confirm your position on the waitlist or request to be removed from said waitlist.

It lets you see your status using only your common application ID, last name, and birth date. You can access it right now.

So essentially you can use this as a way to see if you've been waitlisted to the college you applied to. If the college you applied to does not appear on the list, it means you either were outright accepted or outright rejected.

https://cas-webapp.andrew.cmu.edu/waitlist/admitlogin

Interesting. I wasn’t waitlisted, woohoo! (hopefully a woohoo)

Thanks for the tip! I get the letter tomorrow… hopefully it’s a fat one!

For me it says invalid login…?

It said my login was invalid… does that mean that I wasn’t waitlisted or that something is wrong with my account?

Mine said invalid login-I assume that means I wasn’t waitlisted.

Glad I’m not the only one with that problem.

Invalid Login…I can only hope it is good

invalid
please acceptance! but id rather go to umich (lol)

Invalid = rejection.

@majorsenor Evidence? Or is it just a hunch?

How do you know?

@majorsenor ■■■■■ how do u know
all we know for sure is we werent waitlisted

I doubt invalid means blatant rejection-it just means that you aren’t on the waitlist. We need some accepted students to try logging on!

Technically speaking, CMU doesn’t have any reason to load admitted student data to their waitlist database, nor do they have any reason to delete the rejected from database so fast. As you can see enrollment is completed in another online form that has nothing to do with logging in.

So unless you have inside sources or very good evidence, I would be inclined to believe otherwise.

@ideabear
Agreed. I forwarded the information to the RD thread.

Yeah, it’s not that complicated guys. It would only make sense for them to upload your account to the WAITLIST login if you were WAITLISTED. Not accepted or rejected.

Because my friend didn’t get his mail today but he was wait listed at SCS after logging in

if we get a large sample size, someone SHOULD be able to log in if waitlisted

Friend of mine got admitted and tried it: Invalid login. Relax guys.

@majorsenor that is hardly a convincing case.
@tobessebor Good news! Good luck to everyone here who got an invalid login!

Also the replies on RD thread indicates that admitted students won’t be able to login.
