I just discovered this and feel like it would be helpful to share with all of you who have not received your offical admissions decision notifcation in the mail.

CMU has this website set up for students who are waitlisted. It lets you confirm your position on the waitlist or request to be removed from said waitlist.

It lets you see your status using only your common application ID, last name, and birth date. You can access it right now.

So essentially you can use this as a way to see if you've been waitlisted to the college you applied to. If the college you applied to does not appear on the list, it means you either were outright accepted or outright rejected.

Technically speaking, CMU doesn’t have any reason to load admitted student data to their waitlist database, nor do they have any reason to delete the rejected from database so fast. As you can see enrollment is completed in another online form that has nothing to do with logging in.

So unless you have inside sources or very good evidence, I would be inclined to believe otherwise.

Yeah, it’s not that complicated guys. It would only make sense for them to upload your account to the WAITLIST login if you were WAITLISTED. Not accepted or rejected.
