heard it's a hard class...
any tips for prelims?

keep up with the reading, don't fall behind. If you have trouble with any of the concepts, seek help early and often. Go to the bio learning center in stimson and get help with webquizzes there.

Intro bio is not particularly hard but there is a lot of reading and you should keep up with it. They don't cover enough in class for you to do well on the prelims so it's one of the few classes where you actually have to read the textbook.

do the webquizzes over and over. Each time they will give you new questions, and once you've seen a lot of them, the prelim will have some very similar questions. At least that was what I noticed.

and read the book.

the prelim has similar questions to the webquizzes??? crap i definitely failed the first one...

lol Does anyone give a damn about webquizzes? I used to get 60% on those all the time and that was before they made them worth less.

I mean, they aren't worth that much but they are good practice for the prelims. I remember there being similar questions.

some of the reading assignments only include a few pages from each chapter. for the material on the pages we didn't have to read, we shouldn't expect that material to be on the prelim right?

And a couple more questions guys, do we need to know how to draw cellulose molecules and other macromolecules? and how about naming the three polysaccharides? I can recognize them ok but drawing and spelling them is another story. And are exams multiple choice based?

Are you even in intro bio? Unless you're A) retarded, B) haven't been going to lecture, C) haven't been doing the webquizzes, or D) haven't read the syllabus; you should know that every single question on all the prelims are multiple choice. Only the final exam has 2 essay questions, along with multiple choice questions.

Are you always this obnoxious or is today special? And how are webquizzes suppose to tell me if prelims are MC or not? I read the syllabus but only had a faint recollection that it's MC, can't I just make sure of it? Geez relax man.

Webquiz questions are drawn from old prelim problems. And really, it's hard to miss the fact that the tests are all MC questions. Have fun in intro bio
