My new PSAT was much higher than my old PSAT. I killed it on the math section and the writing section was very easy except it had a pretty harsh curve. These two sections came easy to me without much preparation but I don’t know what to do with the writing. My score wasn’t too bad for reading, I think it was a 32/38 which could convert to a 640 if it was weighted as much as the math section. The reading had the best curve too and I missed by far the most questions on this section. My main issue seems to be choosing the correct evidence to support the previous answer and “why the author chose _____”. I know there’s not much time left, but I decided to look over my PSAT reading more closely and try to understand why I missed a question and do some more reading sections from the blue book. Any advice on how to improve on the reading section?
go through all 4 practice tests and time urself.
After you finish, spend 2 hours on each reading section and learn why the wrong answers are wrong. This is to help you get better at eliminating. Yes. GO THROUGH THE ENTIRE TEST and learn why all the wrong answers are wrong.
After you do this, you will start to see patterns in wrong answers and see the “dummy” answers the collegeboard put in their tests.
I feel like on the SAT reading, it’s more important to know why an wrong answer is wrong rather than why the right answer is rihgt.
Good luck!
