Sign up for American University twitter feed. Lots of information is sent out that way. @AUHDP is for Housing and Dining.
There are other twitter feeds for other programs.

Pay your room deposit as soon as possible. You’ll have a better chance of getting a double instead of a forced triple.

Select the smallest meal plan allowed. My son has tons of meal swipes leftover and they don’t roll over to the next year.

University College is a great way to meet people and make friends.

Join Class of 2019 groups on social media.

My son is just finishing up his freshman year and he loves American University. It was definitely the right place for him. He is studying Political Science. If you have any other questions or if others wish to add to the list, please chime in.

One of my friends from back home is studying International Politics at American and has also loved his first year, from what I’ve seen of his many many FB posts about all the cool things he’s doing. Seems like a great place to be!

My daughter has signed up for the University College and is in US Society. She decided to fill out the housing survey and let the college match her with someone in the UC. Do many kids do that…or are most on Facebook figuring it out by themselves? It’s obviously up to her to navigate it how she wants, but thought it would be good to ask what the majority of the kids generally do. Thanks!
