Tips on improvimg my SAT Essay score

The first time I took the SAT I didn't prepare as thoroughly as I would have liked to and I ended up getting a six on the essay and I need to know how can I bring my score as close to twelve as possible. Also I have heard that the more you write the better your score will be I was wondering if this true.

Yes, length is essential.

Here are some suggestions my kid recently got:

Pick a non-controversial famous person and learn all you can about him/her.
Find a piece of good, recognizable literature that you can love and read it more than once.
Learn all you can about an historical event or culture.

Once you know these things well enough, you will be prepared to apply that knowledge to almost any essay prompt. This is far better than using examples from a first person, teenage perspective.

Son also learned the “length lesson” the hard way.

People normally don’t realize this, but there is actually a “formula” of sorts that you can use to get atleast a 10 every time.

I learned this from Testmasters (the best SAT prep out there!):

Fill both sides of the essay page all the way to the bottom

Indent well

Well, there is a whole set up method in which you just have to plug in your examples.

Testmasters taught me this…
