so i got scheduled to do an interview with ____ college and i was wondering what i should expect and how to prepare for it… any help pelase ?
Some ideas…
–google “college interview questions” and get an idea of some common questions.
–bring your resume
–dress business casual
–understand what you can bring to the college and why it is a good fit for you
–have some questions ready that cannot be answered by looking on the website.
–also you should find out ahead of time if the interview is evaluative or informational
I’m a Penn alum that has been doing interviews for 4 years now. My best tips for preparing for an interview:
(1) Sit down and write down a few examples of times you worked in a team or held a leadership position in a group. This will help you organize and talk fluently through your experiences.
(2) Be prepared to talk about your academic interests and extracurricular activities. The more you tell your interviewer, the more that will go into the report.
(3) Show up with some enthusiasm for and knowledge about the school, even if it’s not your top choice school and even if you never visited the campus.
(4) Draft a handful of questions to ask your interviewer. This will naturally show enthusiasm for the school and will provide you a good opportunity to learn more about the campus and experience.
(5) Finally, pick out a clean outfit. First impressions make a big difference. If you applied to an undergraduate business, politics, or law program, bring a resume.
