ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ - translate

ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਕੀ ਹਾਲ ਹੈ? ( tuhada ki haal he?)

oh haha, i am cool. whats new with you tippu?

hey fp, what aps have u taken

fp, utte ki aa?

Tippu are you bengali or have you taken a sudden unexplained fancy to the language?
Ki bolo tum?aami bengali na aashchi(i dont think that is grammatically correct but w/e)

perfectpixie, my mother tongue is Kannada. When you are in the US you get to interact with people from all over India and it is fun to learn a few phrases here and there.

I find Bengali and Oriya the hardest to follow.

haha pixie, im bengali and i only understood half of what you said!

well,im not bengali, but I take physics tution from a guy who is.And he lives in this locality in Delhi where everyone’s bengali!I understand most of it while listening but cannot speak it much.
What I said was probably heavily incorrect grammatically. The 1st part is correct “What do you say”?The second part translates to “I dont know bengali”.Problem is ‘aaschi’ means coming.I meant is as ‘aati hai’ in hindi.

haa really everyone in delhi is bengali? thats so cool. ill be sure to visit there when im back in india!!

and what do you say is like "thumi ki bolba? (probably some really slang bengali and not wholly correct)

&
“i dont know bengali” is “ami bangla jaani na”
