I'm an admitted student to CMU this year and frankly, I freaked out a lot when I logged on CMU's site to see Where am I in the process. Because even till today, the day that I was informed that I was admitted to this college, my status is still as shown below:

See? No admission committee completed, no admission committee commenced, etc. No "signs" showed that I would be admitted. But there we go today, I was admitted to CMU.

I post this thread today for future applicants to CMU, hoping that when they see their almost "unchangeable" app status, they'll now it only means nothing.

Well, I know two kids who applied, my son and his friend. My son had Admissions Completed and his friend’s status stopped at application complete. My son recieved Get your kilt on and his friend did not. My son was admitted and his friend was not. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

Yep, I’m an admitted student too and I never got “Admission Committee Completed.”
It clearly has no influence on your decision.

I had admissions committee completed, but never got the “Get Your Kilt On” package despite the fact that my file was completed over a month ago. And I was accepted. So there isn’t a direct correlation between getting the “get your kilt on” thing and getting accepted.

Never received admission committee completed and accepted as well - I agree with garage12 - future applicants please don’t let your status page create additional anxiety for you - just wait as best you can for your decision.

I never got admission committee completed and was accepted.
However, the Financial Aid Eligibility Letter did hint to my status, and will probably be the object of worry for students next year.

I would like to know what the “Decision Notification” date in Admissions Documents Sent signifies. Is it just an error by putting Feb instead of March? Not that it really matters but I’m trying to appease my puzzled parents by asking.

I have never checked it and I’m in.

Yup, it all seems kind of random except the financial aid eligibility letter - tip that you are either accepted or Waitlisted.

Why does it say January 2011 in your materials lists?!
