has anyone gotten an acceptance package recently? it seems as if people who have gotten their letter these past couple of weeks haven't been forwarded for that long. just wondering.

going to bump this…

I’ve been forwarded for months - no status change - no letter - getting nervous

im in the same situation. :/

Thanks for the info - I did read the other thread you suggested. Just nervous. SC is my first choice and I’m just nervous. I guess I need to go to the “rejection fever” thread :)

SC is my first choice as well. I’ve heard back from every other school so its not like i can fake indifference to my parents when i eagerly check the mail each day since theres only one more school that I’m waiting for. But as we’ve been saying, don’t give up. The Majority of the people on this forum are well qualified and are generally those who have worked hard during school. Just look at the cover of your “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” and heed its suggestion: “Don’t Panic”

:)

Me too - I’ve heard from all my other schools but I really want to go to SC. My Dad is a grad and I’ve grown up going to all the games!

I wait for the mail everyday - love the “my mailman’s name is…” thread!

Just decided to post since I have been reading cc all month.

I hope we all get in and can celebrate together :)

Been forwarded for months as well. Was wondering what everyone’s stats were in this pool?

I guess not as good as I need to get in.

uw 3.9 w 4.2
SAT low 1900
lot of EC’s
I think good essay - I am very passionate about the subject

I haven’t seen any other SPPD applicants on here either.

I’m just depressed today reading all the threads of people going so quickly to forwarded / reviewed /accepted

Not sure that I can even think Spring accept at this point!

I have heard from all of my other schools too. I am beginning to wish that I had applied as an undeclared and then tried to transfer into Marshall.

I can’t tell you how depressed I am. :(

uw 3.52 w 3.72 (3.72/3.87 for 10-12)
SAT 1980
ACT 29
lot of EC’s - Eagle Scout plus other ECs
Great Essay - surviving a 2 mile hike in the Sierras
Great interview

I received a 630 on my Math SAT II and and a 670 on the SAT 1, 30 on the ACT math section
I saw that many of the acceptances to Marshall had 700 or above on their Math SAT II and took AP Calc. I only took Math through Pre-Calc honors.

I am wondering if this is a trend?

I was thinking that too - undeclared might have been a better choice but I am passionate and wanted to start in SPPD.

Well if nothing else, I can try again with the Master’s program!

If by any luck at all that I can at least get a spring admit - I would be a happy person! I’ve wanted SC all my life.

Well the waiting is almost over.

Werty1992,

take heart, my S is surprisingly similar to you–Forwarded over 2 weeks ago, Marshall, Eagle Scout, no letter…

Werty1992 - I second that. Don’t give up hope - you are very similar to many on the thread. They have alot of apps and may just not have gotten to yours yet :)

Keep up the faith!

We are still waiting also, here’s my son’s stats - he applied to Viterbi:

SAT 2130 (780 on Math, which should be good for engineering)
GPA 3.98/4.69
Rank top 4% in a 5A public high school, class of 700
EC - he played football for 4 years, track for 3 years, did community service with both of those programs, a couple of clubs.
AP Classes - 8 total (AP Scholar)

We never saw his teacher recs, but assume they were good since he aced those classes.

I thought his hook might be keeping those grades, in the most rigourous classes, while still committing 20-25 hours a week to sports.

But maybe not.

There are so many qualified people still stuck on forwarded. Your son has great stats! Maybe we are just reading too much into this and SC just has a huge workload! I’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you both.

Still at FORWARD (two weeks now). Had a great alumni scholarship interview this week. I applied undeclared because I seriously don’t know what I want to do yet. Stats: SAT 1 2020, SAT II’s high 600’s, 3.8 GPA uw, lots of leadership, good essay. Didn’t get to read teacher rec.

I really wanted to get into USC but it’s looking like FORWARD for longer than a week may mean rejection. I think the FORWARD in my status means to move FORWARD to one of the schools who accepted me. Or it could be that I should be looking FORWARD for an envelope that may be in my mailbox soon? Who knows but I’m looking FORWARD to finally finding out!

I really don’t think the school and the alumni association scholarship have anything to do with each other. If you are called for an alumni scholarship interview, it does NOT mean you are accepted (in case anyone next year is in the same situation).

I’ve been Forwarded for so long now that it seems like a bad word in my vocabulary. You helped me laugh - thanks!

They must just have so many apps that they are running through them as fast as they can. I think SC would be proud to have any of these applicants.

I have no advice for next year other than don’t get too hung up and anxious about the status’ - I don’t know how to wait it out patiently :)

I’d say for next year - make your Senior year count! Do something worthwhile with your summer and start working on your essays now.

Thanks. Not giving up hope yet. I meant to say a 2-day hike, not 2 mile…

I am hoping that forward means they are still looking at my ap. :)

Just went to the mailbox. No letter. :(
