So I called the Admission office...(look at if you have been forwarded forever)

and I'm curious who else has and what response they have gotten from the representative

I called, gave my USC ID and name, and asked the question. (the following convorsation is not word for word, but very close)
Fieralds :"I was just curious about the status of my application. I have been forwarded on the online status report for about two months and I was just curious about its actual status?"

USCRep:"It appears that it was just recently under review and you should receive an update in a few days. I wouldn't rely on the online status because any online changes may not correspond with actual application status"

Fieralds:" Alright. Now will all decisions regarding acception and rejection be made by april 1st, received by April 1st, or just shipped by april 1st"

USCRep:"You will receive a notification before or on April 1st at the latest."

Fieralds: "Alrighty. Thank you very much!"

As a few of you may know, I have been forwarded for ages, but read this and have hope. I had been forwarded FOREVER (or so it seemed), but they just got to my app. Whether or not that is a good thing, i don't know, but know that all of you who have been forwarded and are worried that you have been rejected, odds are they just haven't gotten to yours yet. I received a letter from USC mentioning that they had received a record number of applicants, and so the delays are not without reason. Also take note that the large volume of statuses makes it difficult for the progress of each application to be reported online, so don't wager everything on the online status.

Now as for what she said in my conversation with the rep, I'm curious about how it corresponds with other people's experiences. I'm relieved that they have looked at my app, so now i just need to wait a few days to see whether or not the committee looked favorably upon my app.

Best of luck to all of you! I hope all of us active CC forum watchers get accepted so we can have one heck of a CC Forum reunion next year!

-DJ

THIS JUST MADE MY DAY!!! thank you soooososo much for posting this!

Best post evarrrrr

Interesting, thanks!

Thanks!!!

They will have to mail decisions out by tomorrow for me (east coast) to receive before or by 4/1 ???

thanks for letting us know

“You will receive a notification before or on April 1st at the latest.”

YES, i did not know that. thanks :]

Best of luck to all of you!

Just for a bit of clarification, when she mentioned that my app was recently under review, she implied that they had actually completed looking at my app so they are definitely making progress!

Fieralds, You have great stats. If you get worried, I should be be even more worried.Haha.

I wouldn’t call my stats great :stuck_out_tongue: just…average. The only unfortunate thing is my school is pretty small (400 people) and we don’t have that many AP classes so it kinda hurt my Weighted GPA some by not having that much access to them

This made my day. Thank you!

Fieralds, thank you so much :). Very informative.

so acceptance letters could come out on the 1st as well?

I think they meant to say received by the 1st.

omg.
we should be expecting acceptance and rejection letter this coming week :frowning:
this is more nervous.
i guess that big “third wave” was just a rumor.
cuz that freaked me out.

what sucks is im going to be out of the country all next week (for spring break) so If I dont find out tomorrow or sat its going to be awful!!

I know exactly how you feel. Call and tel they that. maybe they will give you an hint over the phone, seriously.

wow nice post.
April 1st, damn it’s getting close…

ha it would be pretty awkward if they had to tell me a rejection over the phone

dbaby955 et al,

I’m in the same situation, except I’ll be out of the country for two weeks. My mom called USC (she has a magical rapport with one of the admissions officers there… I don’t understand it or encourage her, but she was ED and can’t handle all the stress of these weeks… anyways), and they refused to give any decisions over the phone until April 11. So that unfortunately won’t help us vacationers. :(
