Hi,
can i ask at all aerospace major, which concentration between Aeronautics and Astronautics have you chosen ? And why ?
Which is the most challenging ? And the most rewarding ?
From the start of the college, have you changed plan or have you sticked to the initial one ?
One last question:
Where are you studying ?
And, what is you goal ?
It’s impossible to say which is most challenging and most rewarding because that really depends on your interests and aptitudes as a student. The good news is, you don’t have to choose right now. You can wait until you have a few years worth of school in aerospace engineering and decide which holds your interest better.
Ok, i get it.
Could i switch from a job that involve the Aero part and get one in the astro-side if one day i decide to change career path ? And vice versa
I know that the Aerospace degree involve the study of common things but i would like to know if after i complete the degree with e.g. Aero, i can pursue a career in the astro side 'cause i know myself and probably i i would like to try both the routes.
Thank you for the patience.
That’s tough to say. It really depends on what skills you have and what skills this hypothetical aster job requires.
I sympathize with you! My son had been interested in “flying vehicles” since before he could talk, and shot rockets and flew rc airplanes growing up. His career interest quizzes came up AE so we started out looking for AE programs. However, my friend’s husband, who has an AE degree (from UIUC, ys ago) warned that there are fewer jobs, and the field has a changing and unpredictable future. shrug I think if you really like it, then go for it. Many adults pick up classes along the way to “alter course”. You are not locked into anything forever but you DO want to be happy (which helps significantly with motivation) in your college classes!
Keep in mind that is possible to be a MechE or EE that works on “flying vehicles”.
Though working as any type of engineer in the aerospace industry means you are still subject to its particular brand of predictable unpredictability.
Thank you very much. I know that there are fewer jobs but i can take the risk.
And Yes, i know that even MechE and EE can work in this field but my interest fall in the AE degree.
I have one question: it is realistic to think to get a degree in 5 years? Because i am calculating the estimated expenses
