To all who have taken the SAT in the past: Tips?

I'm taking it for the first time in October. I have taken multiple one-sitting practice tests before, but I am hoping that this will prepare me even more for the following PSAT.

What did you do to prepare in the month before? Memorize vocab? Review math? How about the week before the test? Anything I should be aware of? When school starts, I'm going to be deluged by homework. So I want to make up a study plan that isn't too overwhelming but will help me be confident and prepared. Thanks in advance.

Since you'll probably have more chances to take the SAT, i just suggest relaxing before the test and when you take it, try to get a feel for the testing atmosphere so that if you take it again you'll feel more comfortable.

-_- don't take the sat to prepare for the practice sat lol thats counterintuitive...you should wait and take your psat first and then see how you do and what you need to study for

Are you trying to take this SAT in preparation for this year's PSAT? If so, that's not exactly the way to go about doing it because you won't have your scores back or know what you need to work towards until after you've taken the PSAT. If you're preparing for National Merit or something for junior year (and you're a sophomore now), it might not be such a bad idea because they are quite similar... However, if you're in National Merit contention, then they will expect an SAT score to validate your PSAT score that is taken after you take the PSAT, so take that as you will... good luck!
