Hey party people.
I'm going to nassau community college in the fall majoring in biology and minoring in...something. My plan is to get up to a point where I can transfer. I want to transfer into a school in California. I want a UC school (UCSB, UCR, and or UCSD) or CalState (SFSU, SDSU, CSULB). I applied to Long beach for the fall but was denied.
My questions are as follows. Should I finish the 2 years and get my associates and then transfer?
What if any precautions should I be taking?
What if any tips or advice do you'll have for me?
Please and Thank You!

One caution would be not to mistake the beach lifestyle possible at some UCs (UCSB) for the inland environment of other UCs (UCR).
As an OOS student, you will also want to check the Net Price Calculators to make sure this is a feasible option financially.

There is a subforum for California colleges, browse it. Try to look at what kind of classes CCC students are taking to transfer. Yes, it is likely best to do 2 years then apply, I don’t think having AA matters too much it is up to you. UC only takes Jr transfers. Use ASSIST system to look for articulation agreements that you can mimic. I take it you are aware of the OOS prices for UC and CSU, but UC especially and can pay that?
