i want to ask my english teacher for a nomination to the telluride association summer program for high school juniors. i know i'm in good standing in his class- i have a 98 so i'm almost positive i have one of the strongest grades. tasp is extremely hard to get into and i need all the help i can get. does it mater if i'm nominated, instead of just getting the application off the website?

As far as I know, it makes absolutely NO DIFFERENCE. It would probably be better just to wait until applications are out and bother that teacher later for the rec. letter (the program requires one).

i don't think it matters at all, actually. the nomination procedure is supposed to broaden the applicant pool to students who have not heard about TASP. if you are already planning to apply, just wait for the online app to be up.

Yeah. I wasn't nominated, nor did I ever receive anything in the mail :( I don't even think they take it into consideration; if they do it's a VERY small thing to them.

Don't embarrass yourself- just print out an app.
