Hey, I was accepted, honors program. Anybody else? If your an honors student, what's the deal with the program? More work? Better classes? I hear bad dorms with great location... If your a future student where are you from? Maybe I'll see you around.

Hi, I'm currently a freshman in the honors program. You have to take 12 credits as honors your first year to qualify for the General Honors Award, which happens at the end of either Soph. or Junior Year, I'm not positive which. That means, the rest of your classes will be non-honors. What I find is that honors classes are VERY MUCH smaller than Intro classes. For example, the intro Psych class I'm taking non-honors is 300 people, yet the Honors Psych is less than 50 people. I feel that the honors classes have more assignments, like essays, and then the regular classes rely almost solely on tests. You get to know your professor a whole lot better in the honors courses as well. I think it's most beneficial to take courses within your majors in honors.

To everyone in it, I have some advice. Although you think you don't need it now you might, so keep an open-mind, because I never thought I would be in the position I am either. I found first semester to be very challenging in a variety of ways. I actually received better grades in my honors courses than the non-honors. I took Statistics, and I did horrendously and it basically single-handedly destroyed my GPA, and I am currently re-taking it this semester. YOU MUST MAINTAIN A 3.0 IN ORDER TO TAKE HONORS COURSES SECOND SEMESTER AND THE REST OF YOUR COLLEGE CAREER. I can't stress this enough, don't fall behind, because they don't make exceptions to this rule, trust me.

The honors program is very prestigious part of Delaware, so I congratulate all who were accepted!
